"God's Powerful Word"
Our friend Rich Bruce from WVRS radio is a great fan of trivia, studies and surveys. Recently he posted the following on Facebook:
"In a recent Back To The Bible study, they found that Christians who spend time in the Word at least four times a week were 228% more likely to share their faith, 407% more likely to memorize scripture and 30% less likely to struggle with loneliness. There are all kinds of reasons to hide God's Word in your heart!"
Look at those percentages. They are tremendously high. And, it isn't even reading the Bible every day. It is only reading it four times a week.
Does God's Word make a difference in your life? Are you reading the Word? Are you open to hearing what God has to say to you? Are you taking seriously His commands to spread the Gospel everywhere? Are you heeding His commands to forgive? Are you aware of His instructions on any number of subjects?
The bottom line is whether you are taking time to hear from God and read His Word.
Isaiah 55 is a chapter about God providing every need for His people. Verse 11 reads, "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
Focusing on God's Word. Reading God's Word. It makes a difference in our lives, in our attitudes and in how willing we are to share with others. Take time today to read the Bible. It will be time well spent.
"Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You" (Psalm 119.11)
