Rev. David Heil, Paul's father, pastored churches for more than 50 years. For more than a decade during those years, he prepared and recorded a daily "minute meditation" on local radio stations. Now in his 90s, we were delighted when he gave us several notebooks of his original meditation scripts and I wanted to share another one with you.
"The Way Home"
One day a little boy was lost in the heart of London. Eventually a policeman sighted the boy, noticed his predicament, and asked, "What's the matter, my boy? Can I help you?" "Oh," said the child, "I am lost." "Well, don't cry," replied the Bobbie. "We can fix that. Where do you live?" The little boy, through his tears, replied, "If you can take me to the hill where the white cross stands, I can find my way."
Think of this for a moment. It may be that someone listening has lost his or her way, too, spiritually speaking. But friend, allow me to direct you to the cross the cross of Calvary for it was there that Jesus died for you. If you will receive Him as your personal Savior, through faith, you will be able to be on your way to the heavenly home. The cross makes all the difference.
