"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." NIV

Our youth pastor at International Airport Church for several years was Martin. He was from Ireland and occasionally told some very creative stories. Here is one of my favorites!

An old man was resisting the escalating cost of oats he daily fed his mule. So he decided to gradually substitute sawdust in the mule's diet to cut costs. Everything went fine for awhile but by the time the mule was satisfied by just eating sawdust, he died.

The same is true spiritually. The change-over from truth to error is sometimes a slow process and people don't always know the difference. But, before they know it, they are spiritually dead.

We need a steady diet of truth! When dealing with truth, it is important to establish what the Bible says because as a form of truth, it is absolute. We cannot change the truth, but the truth can change us.
