From the broadcast the weekend of November 11th & 12th, 2017:

Click for Whisnants Our Featured Artists of the weekend, the Whisnants, always seem to come up with some outstanding songs for their recordings, and their new CD, "Still The Same," is, well, the same.  "He's Never Moved," their new radio single and the song from which the CD's title is derived, is an excellent reminder about the faithfulness of God.  In fact, God's faithfulness seems to be a theme running through several of the CD's songs.  I don't know if the Whisnants would like to hear this, but the song that keeps running through my mind is their remake of the Cathedrals' classic, "I'm Gonna Live Forever."  They did it back in the early 1980s, and it's been a favorite of mine every since.  And, yes, I do enjoy the Whisnants' version.  Even the song about Enoch, one of Scripture's more mysterious characters, is quite enjoyable.  More info about the Whisnants can be found on their website.

The Whisnants' CD featured on this program, "Still The Same," is available from our mailorder service, Springside.  Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order.  You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item.

Click for Aaron WilburnShelia and I always enjoy our visits with Aaron Wilburn.  He's been writing and singing great songs for many, many years.  He wrote quite a few songs that were big hits for the Happy Goodmans (with whom he traveled) back in the 70s and 80s.  But he's been writing ever since and is still putting out exceptional new songs that other groups, such as Brian Free & Assurance and the Talleys, are recording, among others. Of course, he has his own recordings, too.  He has a new humor album out, showing his well-known humorous songs.  But he also has a CD out called "Stories & Songs."  It's unusual in that, along with some of his songs, old and new, he also actually tells the stories (right there on the CD) behind a few of those songs. You heard one of them on this program's Artist Spotlight segment. Aaron's "Stories & Songs" CD is available from springside.com.  Find out more about Aaron on his website
