Our Featured Artists on this program were the very popular trio Greater Vision. You heard Gerald Wolfe describe why, medically, singing has become difficult for him, at least on a systained basis, because of his muscle tension dysphonia. That's why they brought in Jon Epley to sing Gerald's part, including, at the very last minute (as you heard), on their new recording. You'll remember Jon as a former member of such groups as the Ball Brothers, the LeFevre Quartet and the Inspirations. After some time off the road, he's delighted to be back — and still feeling a bit "overwhelmed" to be invited to join one of his all-time favorite trios. So, no, even though there are four faces on Greater Vision's new CD cover, they are not "going quartet."
Greater Vision songs on this program were from their new CD called "Still," including that title song. The song called "The Gospel" was especially powerful. And I love the reassuring reminder in their song called "There Is Hope."
Greater Vision's CD featured on this program, "Still," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item.
The Northmen & Cathy, our Artist Spotlight guests on this edition, this year are celebrating 28 years of singing fulltime. They are, today, Alan Godsey, his wife, Cathy, and baritone Brad Luzzader. They're based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Songs heard on this program are from their CD, "The Northmen & Cathy Now." "We Believe" is an exceptional statement of faith and "He's Making Me" is a reminder that each of us is still a "work in progress." You can find out more about the Northmen & Cathy here. And you can write to them at email@example.com.
On the Headline Update I mentioned that the group Exodus from Gadsden, Alabama, won the 2017 Singing News Ultimate Talent Contest. We'll visit with them on an upcoming edition of The Gospel Greats program.
