Our special theme on this program was fathers and fatherhood, specifically remembering, honoring and encouraging fathers everywhere. Some very encouraging and challenging songs were included. And as you also heard, several of our guests had some sage advice and helpful observations about being fathers.
When I was interviewing our Featured Artists of the week, Steve Hess & Southern Salvation, I discovered that a lot of what we were discussing involved the "father" theme. Steve Hess and Jay Arview each had a song on their new "God Still Delivers" CD written by their fathers. John McCall has his son traveling with him much of the time and, as you heard, has a testimony about what happened when his son accepted Christ at one of their concerts. Right then and there I decided that they would be the Featured Artists on this "honoring fathers" edition. Their new radio song from that CD, "How Great The Debt," is a powerful song from the pens of Dianne Wilkinson and Rebecca J. Peck and is bound to be a long-time favorite song for this group.
The Steve Hess & Southern Salvation CD featured on this program, "God Still Delivers," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item.
