From the broadcast the weekend of January 21st & 22nd, 2017:

Click for the LestersThe Lesters, our Featured Artists on this program, have an amazing legacy in Southern Gospel music.  The group's history spans 92 years — which may be a record for any such musical group.  Today's group includes Brian Lester (a third generation Lester) along with his son, Jonathan, and Jonathan's wife, Bailee.  Songs on this program were from their current CD, "Ordinary People."  The Lesters really do think of themselves as "ordinary people," but God has allowed them to do extraordinary work for Him for more than nine decades.  "People Like Me," their current radio song, is the song that inspired  the CD's title.  I enjoyed hearing the current group's remakes of some Lesters classics such as "Ain't God Good" and "I Plead The Blood."  Their website is thelesters.com and you can email them at lstrs@aol.com (By the way, they have a bus for sale!)

The Lesters' CD featured on this program, "Ordinary People," is available from our mailorder service, Springside.  Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item

Squire ParsonsSquire Parsons was our Artist Spotlight guest on this program.  Squire is one of the kindest and most "real" individuals you'd ever want to meet.  He certainly has a heart for spreading the Gospel through his music.  As he said on the air, "This isn't just about me.  It's not just about getting songs on the charts. But realizing that God, for each of us, each group, He's laid out an area for them to minister in and they're to e a blessing to His people there.  Or to carry the seed of salvation for those who are unsaved."  Songs included on this program were from his current "Truth On Fire" CD.

Karen Peck Gooch talked a bit on this program about her group's recent visit to Honduras, at the invitation of some people there who had heard their songs on the radio.  In Karen's words, "This trip literally changed our lives... We have never been so blessed by an audience as we were from the people of Roatan.  They sang along at the top of their lungs as we sang 'Four Days Late' and 'Special Love.'  Tears began to flow as the Holy Spirit moved in those services.  Needs were met and souls were saved.  Thank the Lord for using that radio station to spread the Gospel in Roatan..."

This program included first announcement of our next Listener Favorite Call-In, which will be conducted Sunday afternoon, January 29th, from noon to 6 p.m. Eastern time.  (Find more info here.)  Please also note on that page the information about pre-registering.  That is not required, but it will mean some additional Call-In opportunities for you.
