| From the program
aired the weekend of Oct. 10th & 11th, 2009: |
Our Featured Artists on this program
were the Perrys with songs from their new CD called "Almost Morning."
I've been anxious to do a feature about this new CD since it came out
earlier this year because I think it's one of the Perrys' best yet. People
surely seem to agree, at least judging from response to the first radio song
from it "If You Knew Him." This is a powerful song about, as
Joseph Habedank mentioned on the air, about the resurrection and about
how we can know that Christ is alive today. "Did I Mention" is another
strong song (no wonder Troy Peach likes it so much). Joseph's comments
about not really setting out to be a songwriter are very interesting, considering
that he and co-writer Matthew Holt have had so many very popular songs
recorded by quite a few top artists.

Morning," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call

The news is very good from Tim Greene. As you heard him
tell on the program, he has been healed from his decade-long sickness that
was so serious it confined him to bed for almost three years and to a wheelchair
for almost four years. It was a serious condition brought on by exposure
to toxic mold. His healing was both miraculous and instantaneous as he was
baptized seven times in the Atlantic ocean. I hope you heard him tell the
amazing story. Now he is traveling anywhere he's invited to testify of God's
goodness and power. He'll even be traveling to Wales, England, later this
month. His phone number is 910-616-5610.

Evangelist Tim Greene, P.O. Box 7985, Ocean Isle Beach NC 28469. By the way,
Tim says he has no plans to rejoin the Greenes, since he feels the Lord wants
him to share his story of healing as widely as possible.

On
the Headline Update you heard a report about the Southern Gospel Music
Guild presenting "Lifetime Achievement Awards" to three people this
year talent agent Beckie Simmons, record company executive
Chris White and, for the broadcast media, Paul Heil. I recently
shared these thoughts with our radio affiliates: I am deeply honored yet
humbled by this recognition from leaders in the Southern Gospel music industry
through the Guild. God has certainly been good to Shelia and me over these
past thirty years that we have been producing The Gospel Greats radio program
and have been involved in Southern Gospel music in many other ways. We're
delighted to be helping share the Gospel through some of the greatest music
in the world. And we're honored to call so many artists and other industry
people our friends and colleagues. To God be the glory.
