From the program aired the weekend of Aug. 22nd & 23rd, 2009:

Click for Ball Brothers The Ball Brothers (Andrew, Daniel, Stephen and Josh) were our Featured Artists on this edition. Yes, they really are brothers, and have been getting an excellent response from audiences everywhere they travel. 2006 is when they went fulltime, and their high-flying career got quite a boost right off the launch pad when they toured with the Martins and then with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound — and that sure can't hurt. The Ball Brothers have spent a long time getting ready for their new "Breakthrough" CD, four songs from which were included on this broadcast. "Glimpse Of Your Glory" is their new radio single, so you'll undoubtedly be hearing a lot of that song. I always enjoy "I Wouldn't Miss Heaven For The World." I've loved it since the Singing Americans (as Andrew mentioned) put it out back in the 80s, and I like what the Ball Brothers did with it. The variety on this CD was illustrated by the other two songs, "Forgiven" and "I'll Do Anything," both of which are very different from those previous songs. Their e-mail is contact@theballbrothers.com.

Click for Springside The Ball Brothers' CD featured on this program, "Breakthrough," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify for free shipping.)

By the way, the Ball Brothers' website says the guys have three younger sisters who, yes, sing! So perhaps someday we'll hear another group from that same family — the Ball Sisters.

The Goldens Our Artist Spotlight segment on this program featured a visit with, and music from, Dale & Cheryl Golden from Tyler, Texas. Dale has a remarkable testimony, especially relative to his bout with pancreatic cancer in 2000. Survival for nine years from such a condition is extremely rare. But to be totally cancer-free at this point is, literally, a miracle. The song Dale wrote, "Summer In My Soul," heard on this program, seemed especially appropriate. "Everywhere we go, I try to encourage people to embrace God's will for their life," Dale says. "God's plan is a perfect plan for you. Sometimes it doesn't seem like it. Sometimes He will have you go through things that you don't udnerstand and that you don't like. I've been in many of those situations with my cancer battles, my physical battles... But once I was through them I could see that God had a plan the whole time and that His plan was perfect for me. And I embrace His will." Well said. Their booking number is 903-539-5321. Jack Toney
Our "Yesterday's Voices" feature on this progrem was with the late Jack Toney, one of the kindest men you'd ever want to meet. I always enjoyed interviewing him. He was an outstanding singer, too, and I loved his distinctive, quality voice. Jack Toney passed away April 15, 2004.

You heard on the Headline Update that Gold City is looking for a new bass singer. If you're interested, send all relevant information to them at goldcityauditions@me.com.
