From the program aired the weekend of July 25th & 26th, 2009:

Click for Legacy Five We've featured Legacy Five's current "God's Been God" CD before. But since this program was a countdown, and because we've recently featured many of the other artists in the Top 20, we decided to feature Legacy Five again (since they have a Top 20 chart song). What I liked about this is that we got a chance to feature some album cuts that weren't included the first time around — songs that, nonetheless, are outstanding songs and deserve to be heard. Among them was their powerful song, "Take It To The Cross" and their joyful "Every Morning." On the program, Scott Fowler mentioned their new event this October at Estes Park, Colorado. Details are on their website, www.legacyfive.com. Click on the "special events" tab at the top. The scenery in that part of the world is breathtaking.

This was our official Singing News Top 20 Countdown Edition, reflecting the chart as it appears in the magazine's August issue. The chart is based on song airplay at Southern Gospel radio stations across North America.

I was glad to hear from Elaine Wilburn that her son Jonathan Wilburn (recently of Gold City) is singing once again, this time with his 23-year old son, Jordan, around their home area of Gadsden, Alabama. What I didn't mention on the Headline Update is that they'll be singing August 16th in Carthage, TN (home of the Wilburns), at their original home church, North Carthage Baptist (2 p.m.). If you're within driving distance, check it out!
