| From the program
aired the weekend of June 20th & 21st, 2009: |
Our Featured Artists on this program were the
trio known as Three Bridges, with songs from their current CD,
"Another Blessing." Elliott McCoy is an original member of
this group, formed about seven years ago. The others, Eddy Bolton
(himself a veteran singer) and Scott Johnson joined the group
just last year. (One of the vacancies had been created by the departure
of Mitch Kenitzer, who now is a soloist, Mitchel Jon, whom
you heard on the program last week.) I loved Eddy's story about his song,
"Took His Breath Away," inspired by something his father did as he
lay dying back in 2007. (This story rang true to me, personally, having heard
accounts of what happened as my father-in-law was dying just last month.)
The Three Bridges CD featured on this program,
"Another Blessing," is available from our mailorder service, Springside.

Coming as this program does on or about
the time of Father's Day, much of this program was a "Salute to Fathers."
(Fortunately, Father's Day is observed the same day in the USA, Canada
and the UK, three primary areas where our program airs.) We were able
to share some excellent artist comments this year. Common themes included
encouraging fathers to spend time with their children and to let them see
Christ in their lives so that they will grow up emulating Christ. (I
especially enjoyed Gerald Wolfe's story.)
The Gordon Mote song included on this broadcast was called "A Son
Of My Own." It's from a new CD Gordon has been working on, but it's not
out yet. Because we had interviewed about the song earlier, I'm told he worked
to get it ready early just so he could send it to me for use on this program.
In fact, this was the first song from his new CD to air anywhere!
Thanks, Gordon (and his assistant, Bob Rodgers) for making this very
appropriate "sneak preview" available!
So you'd like to sing tenor for the Mark Trammell Trio (as heard on
the Headline Update). Information about the opening can be found at
www.marktrammellministries.com.
Info about the Freedom Celebration July 3-4 in Reston, Virginia, that
Gerald Wolfe talked about on the Headline Update can be found at
www.celebratefreedomindc.com.

NOTE: The deadline for entering the Three
Bridges CD drawing has passed.
