| From the program
aired the weekend of June 6th & 7th, 2009: |
Our Featured Artists on this program were the
Primitive Quartet. This group is aptly-named because, as they say,
their music holds to the old style of quartet singing. And people love it.
Their songs always have solid, encouraging messages. And you can sing along
easily. Songs included on this program were from their current "35th
Annivesary" CD. 35 years isn't bad for two groups of brothers who just
enjoyed singing and never intended to make it their life's work.
More information about the group can be found on their website,
www.primitivequartet.com, where
you'll also find more information about their big Hominy Valley Singing,
June 29-July 4, 2009.

I enjoyed (and I suspect you did, too) our Artist Spotlight visit with Keith
Plott. You probably remember him from his years singing bass with Brian
Free & Assurance and before that with Danny Funderburk & Mercy's
Way. Now he's singing solo, traveling with his wife. Keith told the story
on the program about his wife's medical problems which caused him to leave
the quartet circuit so he could be with her. I like what he said on the program
about those all-too-common times when prayers for healing seem to go unanswered:
"As Christians, whether or not we are healed right here, right now, or
when we get to the ultimate healing, we're going to be healed. And that's
something we can throw right back in the devil's face. A lot of times we
go through things in life that we don't understand. But, you know what? There's
an almighty God Who has it all under control." Well said. More information
about Keith can be found on his website,
www.keithplott.com.
