| From the broadcast
the weekend of June 14th & 15th, 2008: |
Our Featured Artists on this broadcast were Legacy Five with songs
from their new "God's Been Good" CD. I fully expect their first radio
song from this CD, "Hello After Goodbye," will become not only a very
popular song in the months ahead but also a song that will be requested for
years to come. It's a wonderful reminder that, for the Christian, the loss
of a loved one here means just a temporary separation. After the "goodbye"
down here, there will someday be a "hello" in heaven that will usher in an
eternal relationship with that loved one, sporting a resurrected body better
than anything experienced here.

Coming as this program does on or about the time of Father's Day,
we included a special "Salute to Fathers" theme. I especially enjoyed
Jim Brady's story about his new song (that'll be out officially in
August) called "Peace In The Shelter Of His Arms," which is based
on something his dad said earlier this year while suffering health problems.
If there was such a thing as a "convicting" song for fathers on this program
it was the Greenes' song "One Day." "One day when I'm not
so busy, one day when the bills are all paid, we'll have some good times
together, things will get better one day."
And,
yes, as I mentioned on the Headline Update, this Father's Day I'm
a very proud father proud of our two sons, of course but also
of the fact that we have a new daughter-in-law! Our son, Andrew, married
the former Meredith Talbert on June 7th. Readers of our weekly e-mail
newsletter got a full account of this from Shelia. If you are reading
this on the website and don't get the newsletter,
you
can read that issue here.
As I mentioned in the Headline Update, congratulations to our long-time
affiliate WCIS in Morgantown, NC, for their fulltime live return to
the air following a devastating fire that leveled their studios and offices
about four months ago. This station is owned and operated by the
Whisnants, so we have a double connection with them. One interesting
thing I didn't know when I recorded the report you heard is that they returned
to the air with a most appropriate song the Crabb Family's
"Through The Fire."
