| From the broadcast
the weekend of May 17th & 18th, 2008: |
For more than thirty years, the Hayes Family in various
configurations has been singing. And they're still going strong. Today's
members include Howard and Lucy Hayes and their now-grown children,
Janet, Sharon and Mylon. And today, as you heard Lucy mention,
even the grandchildren are getting involved. Over the years, they've specialized
in traditional family-style four-part harmony, and their latest CD, "Come
Eat Bread," carries on that tradition. You heard five songs from that
recording on this broadcast, including the title song (which is their current
radio single). I enjoyed the song "Revival Days" and the story about
the video they've done of that song.
More info about the Hayes Family can be found on their website,

You can e-mail them at

We're excited to be able to offer to some especially-blessed listener (that's
a better term than "lucky") a full week at this September's National Quartet
Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. It's Southern Gospel music's biggest
annual event. Just about everybody in Southern Gospel music will be there.
The entry deadline has passed.
